What does it consist of?
A dental implant is a support placed in the jawbone to hold a crown or another dental prosthesis. Replacing missing teeth requires planning that takes chewing function, hygiene and appearance into account.
This is how your treatment is planned.
We assess your mouth and request imaging when indicated. The implant position, surgery and prosthesis are planned together. The schedule depends on healing and the needs of your case.
How it may help you
- Replacement of missing teeth
- Support for a stable prosthesis
- Planning that considers chewing function
Can it be for you?
Implants may be considered when one or more teeth are missing, provided your general health, gum health and jawbone allow treatment.
It is not a solution for life without care. There are risks of infection, failure of integration and complications of the prosthesis, in addition to those of surgery.
Your process, step by step
Times and visits
Treatment includes surgery, implant integration and fitting the prosthesis. Same-day temporary teeth are not suitable for every case; we explain the expected stages and timing.
Your comfort
The procedure is usually carried out under local anaesthetic. Swelling or discomfort can occur afterwards, and you will receive individual aftercare instructions.
After treatment
Keep the area around the implant clean, avoid smoking and attend maintenance visits. Although an implant cannot develop tooth decay, the surrounding tissues can develop inflammation and bone loss.
