Understand to Decide

What does it consist of?

Periodontal care prevents and treats problems affecting the gums and the tissues that support your teeth. Distinguishing gingivitis from periodontitis helps us plan care and control further damage when supporting tissue has been lost.

This is how your treatment is planned.

We assess the gums and supporting bone. Your plan may include oral hygiene guidance, cleaning below the gumline, reassessment and, in selected cases, surgery.

How it may help you

  • Control of inflammation
  • Dental support care
  • Individualized maintenance

Can it be for you?

Arrange a check-up if you have bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, receding gums or loose teeth. An absence of pain does not necessarily mean your gums are healthy.

An informed decision

The lost support does not always recover. The goal is to control the disease and preserve teeth that have a reasonable prognosis; there may be relapses.

Your process, step by step

01

Times and visits

Treatment is organised in stages. Ongoing maintenance is scheduled according to your risk and response and is essential for long-term stability.

02

Your comfort

Sensitivity or discomfort can occur after deep cleaning. Local anaesthetic is used when appropriate, and aftercare advice is provided.

03

After treatment

Clean between your teeth every day, follow the technique recommended for you and avoid smoking. Tell us about conditions such as diabetes and any changes to your medication.
